My work

I started by taking photographs of ribbons. I really like how shiney they are and how they reflect the light. They also work really well next to the wool as they curl really easily.

Here I began to add wool to the photos. I really like this picture.

Overall I really like the simplicity of adding ribbons to my work.

More Party...

I really liked the Party exhibition. Especially the bright colours used in all of the pieces of work. This piece by Anne Hardy really made me think further about the idea of hanging something from the ceiling as Batchelor had also done. I really like the how the pieces of ribbon curl upon themselves. When I got home from seeing this exhibition I began to play with different coloured ribbons. I then photographed them.

Party - Walsall Art Gallery

I LOVED this installation by David Batchelor. I really liked the bright colours he used and I especially liked the idea of hanging something from the celing. This work really fits with the theme of colour in my own work. I also liked how until you got really close you couldn't tell that the spheres were made from lots of different sun glasses.
